Dorman Varitext’s Bus Shelter Displays have been evolving over the past ten years, such that the latest products on offer are the most advanced on the market. The standard LED format is for three lines of text with 30 characters per line, using a 30mm 7 x 5 dot matrix font, or in LCD, three lines of 30 characters using a 38 segment character. Because our designs are based around our standard module range we can also provide bespoke formats, or we can offer a full matrix display capable of displaying double and triple character height text. Our LED technology uses the optical performance requirements set by the UK government for outdoor visible variable message signs as a minimum requirement, and complies fully with the requirements of the DDA. As well as incorporating the market leading audio announcement solution, with digital programming facility, our displays are crammed with other innovations, including the anti-vandal blanking feature; The most recent innovation has been our successful implementation of a solid state backlight for our LCD solutions, which eradicates the requirement for fluorescent tubes, and therefore increases product reliability and service periods, with obvious benefits in terms of reduced maintenance costs.
